DRUMMING
CIRCLE
is
especially for developing a sense of community. Those
who participate, either by playing a drum or observing
have a special opportunity to gain insight into spirituality
and successful living. Drumming teaches us that by working
together, something we sometimes forget in our busy
lives, we can achieve our goals and approach a more
lasting sense of peace and fulfillment in our lives.

MEDICINE
WHEEL
is
a sacred symbol and tool in many Native American traditions.
Hidden amongst the trees along our interfaith trails
is a medicine wheel constructed and dedicated in 1999.
The four directions, the four aspects of personality,
the four colors and other sacred symbology are all incorporated
into the wheels design.

TRAILS
can
be walked throughout the property. One trail, near the
main building has signboards with sayings from different
faiths and religions along the walkway. Other trails
merge into adjacent properties where wooded and open
areas can be used for quiet, reflective walks. Meditation
walks are used for japa practices in the Vedantic (Hindu)
tradition for meditation and contemplation. By using
a japa mala (rosery) and repeating the sacred mantra
for hours at a time. It is a part of ones daily practice
passed down by a teacher.

PANCHATAPA - DEDICATED CEREMONIAL SACRED GROUND
1990
After
purchasing 15 acres of land, a 5 day ceremony was done
by three of the monastics. This ceremony is similar
to a vision quest, when a seeker goes to a sacred and
secluded place and cries for a vision. During those
five days, five fires are kept with fasting and prayers.
This was the first ceremony performed on Mother's Place.
Again in 1998 a ceremony was performed and the sacred
ashes of many holy places around the world was placed
in this sacred space. A gazebo is now standing over
this spot to remind us all of the necessity of going
into seclusion now and then and crying for a vision
and reconnetion to the divine. Many of the monastic
residence continue to use their time in japa, meditation,
sacred rites and daily practices. In addition to their
work in the local community.
